Review Minimum Requirements
- Verify your server hardware meets or exceeds the specifications listed in the Ookla Host Requirements article.
- Verify that your web server is accessible and able to serve content prior to installing Ookla Host software.
- You should be able to open a web browser and navigate to your sever's URL or IP address and receive a response.
Install the Server Daemon
- Download and install the required server daemon
- Windows - Follow the instructions contained in KB article Ookla Server Installation - Windows
- Linux/OS X - Follow the instructions contained in KB article Ookla Server Installation - Linux/OS X
- Ensure the Ookla Server daemon is responding on both ports 8080 and 5060. Both ports are required for all Ookla hosts.
Install HTTP Legacy Fallback content
- Follow the instructions contained in the KB article Installing HTTP Legacy Fallback
Verify Configuration
- Verify your server is externally accessible and properly configured using the Ookla Server Tester. More information on using the Ookla Server Tester can be found in the article Using the Ookla Server Tester.
