Speedtest.net Mobile uses “Location Services” so if you have turned that feature off, or if have denied Speedtest.net access to that service, then our Application will fall-back and try to use "GeoIP", which is sometimes inaccurate for mobile devices in particular.
Remember, the very first time you start Speedtest.net Mobile it will request permission to use “Location Services”. If you select no, or have otherwise turned off that service globally, you can adjust things in your Settings. Here's how:
iOS (iPhone or iPad):
Settings > General > Restrictions > Location Services:
Settings > Privacy > Location Services:
Ensure that Location Services & Speedtest.net are both set to ON.
Android:
Settings > Location & Security:
Use wireless networks (Less accurate and relays on GeoIP)
Use GPS Satellites (More accurate and relay on triangulation of satellites)
Please check the GPS Satellites option
Note: you may either check or uncheck 'Use Wireless Networks"
